For 13 years I've operated across the UK, US, Canada, and Australia, navigating every major platform shift: the death of Facebook organic reach, the rise of the Instagram Aesthetic, the chaos of vertical video, and now the AI targeting era. I also rebuilt from zero after a global pandemic shut every venue on the planet for two years.

As the founder of University Socials, I engineered the marketing frameworks that scaled the brand across four continents. I've watched great venues run quiet Fridays and sell out their Tuesdays without ever understanding why. I've watched nights flash and fade because they were built on a platform, not a system.

No — but it's our preferred model. Most venues already have solid programming, and the fastest path to revenue lift is supercharging what's already working. We come in, fix the tracking, sharpen the creative, and restructure the targeting so you see results within the first campaign cycle. That said, we do advise and build brand-new nights when the concept is right and the venue is ready.

From concept to first scan. We help you define the night's identity — the hook, the audience, the pricing structure, the recurring format — then build the ticketing page, launch campaign, and creative assets around it. The goal is profitability from night one, not a slow build. We've launched nights across Australia, the UK, US, and Canada, so we know what works in different markets and what doesn't.

One-off blasts waste budget. The real lever is consistent, recurring events with a strong scroll-stopping hook — a resident DJ series, a themed night, a midweek special with a clear identity. We build campaigns around your recurring calendar because that's what drives compounding attendance. Each week's campaign builds audience data from the last, which means your cost per ticket drops over time and your bar spend per head goes up.

We connect your ad platform (Meta, TikTok, Google) to your ticketing system and, where possible, your POS. That means we can see which specific ad drove which ticket scan, and cross-reference that with bar spend data. You get a report that shows revenue impact — not reach, not impressions, not click-through rate. If an ad didn't put people through the door, it doesn't get credit.

Australia, the UK, the US, and Canada. We've run campaigns for venues and promoters across all four markets and understand the platform behaviour, audience dynamics, and ticketing ecosystems in each. If you're running events across multiple markets, we can manage campaigns centrally with local creative and targeting.

We don't publish a fixed floor, but realistically you need enough budget to generate meaningful data — which in most markets means at least $3–5k per month in ad spend to see reliable ROAS signals. Below that, the sample sizes are too small to optimise against. We'll tell you honestly in the initial call whether your current budget makes sense for the kind of results you're after.

We diagnose it. Some underperformance is outside anyone's control — bad weather, a competing event, a last-minute artist cancellation. But most of the time there's a structural reason: wrong audience, weak hook, poor timing in the campaign cycle. We review the data, identify the cause, and adjust before the next campaign. You always know exactly what happened and why — no vague excuses.

We don't believe in holding clients captive. Our engagements are structured around campaign cycles, and we're transparent about what results you should expect and when. If it's not working after a fair run, we'd rather part ways cleanly than keep billing you for mediocre results. Most clients stay because the numbers work — not because they're contractually obligated.
